Beauty | Just Arrived: Boots Haul

Hey there all my gorgeous followers!

How are you all doing today?

So, I've been running out of a few things, a couple of which are must-haves in my make-up/skincare routine, which gave me the perfect excuse to splurge a little! ♪(゚▽^*)ノ⌒☆

From left to right:

The two things I desperately needed to re-purchase were the moisturiser and the brow pencil; the moisturiser is very lightweight so it doesn't make me break out (although I wish it had SPF or UV protection), and the brow pencil is genuinely the only one I've found so far that is light enough to match my natural eyebrow colour! Both are necessities in my skincare and make-up routines.

Aside from the Smashbox Contour Kit, the other Soap & Glory purchases are different versions of products I already own. I have the Soap & Glory Trick and Treatment concealer, but found it too yellow on my skin so I bought the Blur and Brighten Crayon to replace it, and I've been using the One Heck of a Blot Mattifying Powder, which has worked for me for the past year or so, and I just fancied a change which is why I bought the Kick Ass Retouch Pressed Powder. I'm excited to see what the new ones are like in comparison (o゚▽゚)oニパッ

Now, the Smashbox Contour Kit is something I've been very interested in for a while now. I've been doing research on contouring and thought that this product was probably the best option for me; I did have a look at their Contour Stick Trio, but I couldn't figure out how to sharpen them ahahaha, nobody was talking about it in the videos I watched or blog reviews I read, and I wasn't about to buy a giant pencil sharpener just for that. I've never done contouring before, so we'll see how it goes!

Beauty | Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Blackhead Series Haul

Hello all!

How are all you beauties doing? (`・ω・´)”

So, as I mentioned in my previous post, I've recently bought the whole Holika Holika Pig Nose Blackhead Clear collection! I wanted to do a haul post first to introduce all the products, as I've only been using a couple so far and need more time to test them all out and see if they make a difference to my skin.

So here they all are!

From left to right:

At the moment, I'm currently using the Perfect Stickers and the Deep Cleansing Oil Balm, haven't seen too much difference just yet, but I only started using them last week. I have a few other posts to occupy the blog with until I've been using them long enough to review them properly, so probably won't see any of these products for at least a week or so ahaha.

So far the couple I have used have been nice! Fresh smelling, pleasant to use, etc. Looking forward to trying them all out! (o≧▽゚)oニパッ

Beauty | Missha Black Ghassoul Peel-Off Nose Pack Review (Korean Skincare)

Hello all of my gorgeous readers!

Welcome to my review of the Missha Black Ghassoul Peel-Off Nose Pack, the final installment of my Missha skincare trio! You can find the review of the Missha Latte Chocolate Cleansing foam here, and my review of the Missha Honey Butter Pack here.

Here we go!

Now, I really don't have as glowing a review to write about this Black Ghassoul Peel-Off Nose Pack as I have the other Missha products. It smells quite bad, obviously it's unpleasantly sticky, and forget about peeling it off, it's SO PAINFUL. I have to use the Honey Butter Pack right after using this as my skin is so red raw and sore that it desperately needs soothing. And to top it all off, I honestly don't see that much of a difference in my skin in terms of black heads.

I've recently bought every product in the Holika Holika Pig Nose series (if you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen that, if not follow me with the button on the side, or by clicking here), so we'll see if any of those products make up for what this one lacks. Bit of a stinker if you ask me, wouldn't really recommend it.

Super disappointing end to the Missha trio series! Sorry about that, maybe I should've saved the best 'til last ahaha. Ah well, a Sunday Shorts on Sunday, and then on to the Holika Holika Pig Nose series!

Beauty | Missha Honey Butter Pack Review (Korean Skincare)

Hi beauties!

Here's my review of the Missha Honey Butter Pack, the second of the three Missha skincare products I bought a while back. You can read the first review of the Missha Creamy Latte Chocolate Cleansing Foam here. The third's coming soon!

This is lovelyyy~! Oh my goodness, I love this (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

I usually use this product after using the Missha Ghassoul Peel-off Nose Pack, as after the peeling off part my skin feels quite tender and raw, so I use this Honey Butter Pack to soothe my skin. Which it does a tremendous job of, I might add!

It doesn't smell as strong or as delicious as the Chocolate Latte Cleansing Foam, but it does still smell quite sweet, though not much. You can keep this pack on for 15-20 minutes, and honestly, my skin is left feeling super soft afterwards, like, I can't stop stroking my own face ahahaha, plus it leaves my skin looking brighter too  (⌒▽⌒)☆

I wouldn't say the Honey Butter Pack makes a great deal of difference to my skin's appearance overall, but I'm always pleased with how it looks and feels after I use it. I also definitely feels it's a necessity after using the Ghassoul Nose Pack, as that really leaves my skin feeling in need of some honey/butter combo nourishment ahahaha. But if I didn't use the Ghassoul, I probably wouldn't need this pack so much, so I'd recommend it mainly if you have problems with dry or tired skin. Or if you just love this honey/butter craze ahaha, 'cause the scent is quite sweet and delicious.

Books | Just Read: Life After Life by Kate Atkinson (Sunday Shorts)

Good news, everyone!

Haaa sorry, couldn't resist! ヾ(*Ő౪Ő*)

But yes, hello, and welcome to another installment of my Sunday Shorts series. Today, this short will be focusing on the book Life After Life by Kate Atkinson, which I read a few months ago, and is quite easily the most interesting and unique book I've read in a few years, actually. So let's dive in!

The most unique and interesting aspect of this book is actually also the main plot point, the premise or idea that the whole book revolves around, and I really don't want to spoil it. It's pretty much given away in the blurb, and I'll post that now, so if you're like me and don't like to know anything about books before you read them, don't read the below ahaha!

"What if you had the chance to live your life again and again, until you finally got it right?

During a snowstorm in England in 1910, a baby is born and dies before she can take her first breath.

During a snowstorm in England in 1910, the same baby is born and lives to tell the tale.

What if there were second chances? And third chances? In fact an infinite number of chances to live your life? Would you eventually be able to save the world from its own inevitable destiny? And would you even want to?"

So, in summary, a mish mash of Groundhog Day vs reincarnation, with the main character given the opportunity to avoid her own death. It's set in the early 1900s, over the course of both World Wars, and builds an incredible tapestry of the main character's life and of her family, to the point where I was moved to tears through some of their actions or when any misfortune befell them.

Kate Atkinson's Life After Life really sucks you in to its world. I cared so much about what was going on in the lives of all the family members and friends, and even ignoring the very unique premise of getting another shot at life, Life After Life is incredibly interesting. I'm not one for historically-themed books so I actually inwardly groaned when I realised what time period the story was set in, but I'm so, so, so glad I didn't stop reading. It was an immensely enjoyable story, one I still think about every few days just in passing, and quite easily my favourite book of the last few years.

I really want to summarise and just say that Atkinson's Life After Life is just an incredible read. Because of its premise it's actually about five-six main stories and then multiple tangents and choices that branch off crammed into one person's life, and each one is better than the next. It's fascinating. I was hooked after the first three chapters, it opens guns blazing but then quietens down for a little while, so just keep plodding through after the intense start as the next chapter or two seem very boring in contrast, but please persevere! Honestly the best book I've read in years and years!! She's written a sequel as well about one of the other family members, which I'll be purchasing as soon as I finish what I'm reading at the moment  ヽ(*⌒∇⌒*)ノ

Beauty | Missha Creamy Latte Chocolate Cleansing Foam Review (Korean Skincare)

Hello everyone!

Apologies for not posting for foreverrr. I'm actually going to do a personal post next, as I've realised that I do put quite a bit of distance between my blog and my life, which is something I want to change. But, that's for next time. So, here we go!

I posted ages ago that I'd bought a few Missha skincare products, and now that I have both time and a laptop, I've finally got around to putting a review together! And without further ado, the Missha Creamy Latte Chocolate Cleansing Foam!

I LOVE THIS. Seriously. It smells delicious. Every time I smell it I just want to squeeze it directly into my mouth, it smells so sweet and chocolately, I can't even believe they got skincare to smell this good! It's amazing, not even real chocolate smells this good. It's the first thing you'll notice, so it's the first thing I've mentioned ahahaha.

Now, the actual benefits!. This is lovely. I have combination skin, it can get quite oily or greasy if I don't take care of it, and if I use skincare without moisturiser afterwards, then it dries out almost instantly. Therefore, I need to use gentle cleansers rather than anything too abrasive, as when my skin's dry it feels quite sore and tight, which is just a really unpleasant feeling, and this Missha Cleansing Foam is really nice and gentle.

You don't need much, a tad bigger than a pea-sized dollop (think coffee or kidney bean size if you want to get specific ahahaha), as it spreads really easily. The amount I used above was pea-sized as I didn't want to waste the product just for the picture, and as you can see it spread easily, and it would have spread much further if I'd bothered. It also foams up quickly which I think helps it spread.

Honestly, for the price, this product is fantastic value for money. I've been using this almost every day for months now, and not only has it lasted this long (in fact I think it's only just half gone), but my skin is honestly the clearest it's been in my entire life! I'm re-buying this the second it starts running low, although the way it's going I probably won't need to for quite a few more months ahaha.

I would honestly recommend this. This cleanser has zero bad qualities (unless your skin is like mine and gets dry after cleansing, in which case you'll need to use a moisturiser as always; I'm currently using Soap & Glory's The Fab Pore moisturiser which I'd recommend as it's lightweight and doesn't leave your skin greasy), and so many good ones like I've already mentioned; the value for money, how long it lasts, texture, smell, and of course how well it clears skin of blemishes, and keeps it clear!
